A spotlight on Alternative Nights fourth edition – Masaki, Dar es Salaam

After three successful events, Alternative Nights came back with a bang last weekend showcasing different talents at the event sponsored by Hennessy held at the watering hole patio in Masaki. The artists put out an amazing show drawing their inspiration from the theme “Dark Room Melodies.”

The stage was shared by a variety of sensational acts such as Pepita Mwanga, Rhoda, and Salma who left the crowd in awe with their poetry and soul performances. With the likes of Gamma Mtunga and Sabi Johns getting the people to singing along.

The night was complimented with standing ovations all around as the rising star Frankie Maston wooed the crowd with his angelic yet powerful voice. The infamous Chi-Aichieli got everyone dancing to the sound of her strings and beautiful voice. The power duo Mukimala and Salma got people vibing to some soulful sounds. The night didn’t end there as the great lyricist and rapper Ben Mlowezi stole the hearts with his flow, followed by Teekila-Davies who was unforgettable with his stage presence.

‘Alternative Nights continues to support local artists, by creating a platform that will shine a light on amazing and talented artists across Tanzania. We plan to do more of such events next year and invite producers and industry tastemakers to elevate such talents’ said Asnath Ndosi the co-founader of Alternative Nights.

Thanks to the sponsorship of Hennessy Tanzania and Watering Hole Patio, Alternative Nights was able to bring to life the theme ”Dark Room Melodies” as the ambience was lit up with fairy lights, and hanging red lanterns around the venue. The stage was well lit, with crates and candles displaying a pyramid of Alternative signage, carpets, and pillows scattered around the stage bringing comfort to the audience as they were entertained by the best of the best.
